All Souls Vigil

  • Gembrook Retreat 215 Beenak East Road Gembrook, VIC, 3783 Bunurong/Wurundjeri country (map)

We invite you to a 24-hour vigil of grief and remembrance to honour those who have died, and to allow the expression of deep, personal and particular grief and loss.

We draw from the traditions of All Saints Day and All Souls Day, where we remember those who have died before us. We draw from the spiral of the Work That Reconnects, which invites us to honour our pain as part of our integration into the cycles of life and death that we all inhabit. And we gather on the land of the Boonwurrung/Bunurong and Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people who have gathered here for the ceremonies of life and death since time immemorial.

We will gather at regular times around the fire to sing a simple chant and hold space for communal sharing.

You are welcome to join us at any time and for as long as you want. Children are welcome.

To bring:

  • food, drink

  • tent or swag if you want to stay overnight

  • symbols of remembrance

  • musical instrument

  • picnic rug, cushion, chair

  • mozzie repellent

  • torch

  • $10 suggested donation to Gembrook Retreat for use of Meeting House
