Christian contemplation: sustaining and decolonising your practice

  • Gembrook Retreat 215 Beenak East Road Gembrook, VIC, 3783 Bunurong/Wurundjeri country (map)

Do you have a deep contemplative practice, or would you like to begin one? Then this workshop is for you!

We will practise, explore and deepen contemplation together in our beautifully crafted Meeting House as well as connect and learn from the flora and fauna - some of the experts of contemplation.

Through our own experience at Gembrook Retreat of developing and sustaining a rhythm of work and prayer, which in turn sustains us in our daily lives, we hope to help support you in sustaining your practice.

As we develop and practise Christian contemplation we need to ask ourselves how our spiritual practices are affected by a coloniser mindset.

At Gembrook Retreat we ask questions about how our inherited Christian spiritual practices need to be decolonised. By listening to Indigenous voices, we can revisit our assumptions about God and seek truth in the light of new perspectives.

Come and explore these learnings and questions with us in the beautiful Meeting House and out on the land here on Bunurong/Wurundjeri country.

Cost: sliding scale $50/$75/$100
